REALTORS® RECEIVE ECONOMIC UPDATE & GIVE BACK TO COMMUNITY

 
Bakersfield CA – This Wednesday, December 9th, local REALTORS® will head to the Marriott to receive an Economic Update from Robert Kleinhenz, Deputy Chief Economist for the California Association of REALTORS®. The event, which starts at 9:00 am, will also feature a canned food drive to benefit the Golden Empire Gleaners. In addition four special check presentations will be made to local charities.

Each year the Association of REALTORS® holds a Charity Golf Tournament, the proceeds of which are given away to local non-profit groups. This year’s Golf Tournament will benefit the Bakersfield Homeless Center who will be receiving $4,509. The Bakersfield Association of REALTORS® will also be giving $1,500 to the Housing Authority for their Jessica’s Christmas program, which will provide Christmas Dinners to over 100 families, $1,060 to the Community Action Partnership for their Annual Coat Drive and $1,060 to the Bakersfield Rescue Mission.

Each year the Bakersfield Association of REALTORS® gives thousands of dollars back to the community, 2009 Nance’ Fillmore says, “Every REALTOR® in Bakersfield truly cares about their local community, it’s not only where they live and where they work – but their businesses thrive on the livability and quality of life here in Bakersfield. REALTORS® are doing more than helping to buy and sell homes, they are selling our community and our way of life.”

Members of the press are invited to come for the check presentations and stay for the Economic Update. The event will take place Wednesday, December 9th, 2009 at 9:00 am at the Bakersfield Marriot Hotel Downtown next to the Convention Center.
